i'm trying to finish my gallon of milk before the 20th. and i realised petrol here aint tt ex after all, cos they go by gallons, and 3+ bucks per gallon is ok right?
me and Tu Dung (pronounced tu-yong) were the only non-blacks on the bus to Willow Lawn today. she was my shopping partner for today, and i got quite alot of shou huo :) bot 4 tops from old navy, of which 2 tees cost 2.99 and 5.99 (:O ), and a pair of leathery-based slippers for 18.88 after tax. had to swipe my posb card twice. and once was master, the other was debit. sian. i wanted both on master but apparently the person didn't know/ didn't hear cos she was busy trying to get me to sign up for the old navy card to get an instant 10% off but luckily i cldn't cos i didn't have my social security no. with me cos aft tt i realised it was a CREDIT CARD. sian. saw all the late payment charges etc. lucky i didn't get myself into such shit i'm unclear abt just cos of a little discount. anyway there's surprisingly ALOT of CHEAP stuff in the USA, or rather in richmond, and u just gotta look in the right places. there were shorts and branded leather belts going for less than $10. and clothes going for as low as $3. i forgot to get this small cream-whitish coloured handbag tt cost $5, and i'm regretting it now :( and i saw alot of nice shoes at reasonable prices but cos there's no perfect information, i cldn't bring myself to spend yet, cos i'm going to potomac mills on wed and i'm afraid there'll be better deals there. saw nice sketchers shoes, nike sports shoes, sneakers and pumps. goo if i had the means i'd be buying loads. we had chinese food for lunch, and tt made me happy too. victoria's secret has surprisingly nice clothes and the prices actually aren't too steep if u compare them with branded nonsense in singapore, and if u zoom straight for the offer racks u can get some really good deals. but most of the jackets were like small and extra small, so i cldn't bring myself to commit 30 bucks. there was this really nice grey-coloured french terrycloth tube dress but even small was too big, cld almost slide down so i cldn't get it :( i would seriously have considered buying it even at ard 35 bucks cos i really liked it. and the tees aren't too ex either, like 15 -24 bucks each. for a victoria's secret house label "PINK"! which explains why most of the stuff was either pink or brightly coloured. but i was happy with my cheap buys b4 tt so i didn't spend more. oh btw all my buys from old navy today were from the kids section. lol. i learnt from vanessa and sheila, just get the larger sizes from the kids section cos they usu have nice clothes which are cheaper and can actually fit us too. hee.
rushed to take the bus back cos Tu Dung had to start cooking for her viet gang, and we stopped by Kroger to get some stuff on the way back. then Xiao Ling asked me to go to the library w her cos she ended work early and was alr back when i returned to dorm. unfortch the lib was closed (it was like 6.40pm and the lib closed at 6pm -_______-) so we decided to go for fries at Five Guys. on the way back it suddenly started raining, and i had to walk fast plus run abit, and i almost tripped and my legs hurt :( prob cos of the acid rain too. i'm paranoid.
but the good thing was I GOT TO SEE FIREWORKS!!! from xiao ling's window. i was abt to bathe when she suddenly shouted to me. and it lasted for like damn long, maybe ard 20 mins? it was fantastic. unobstructed cos we're on the 18 floor and altho the sounds were muted by the windows and the distance, we had a clear view of the fireworks :) they were beautiful. not bad, come to virginia still can see fireworks heh. i wonder wat the occasion is tho. maybe the day after friday the 13th is cause for celebration? xiao ling said she saw fireworks last wk too. but everyone was still at work so she was the sole witness. today me and Tu Dung were lucky to see it too :)
gotta work tmr :( and most of my frens are off...hope the locals will be nice tmr. and i heard i can't change my off day once the schedule is off, so tt means next sat i'll be the only one off again. along we Liu Jian, but i wonder whether he'll wanna go shopping. other than Kroger shopping. or even go out. sian, i wanna be off on sundays too!!! but sat is flipflop day for Tropical Smoothie Cafe, so the first 500 customers in flipflops get a free smoothie. shall wake up early and go with those who work late :)
oh and it's the season for graduation! last week, as well as today, as i walked along the streets lining the VCU campus buildings, i saw processions of smartly-dressed ppl along with the fresh graduate. it really reminded me of weddings, cos often the graduate was decked out in white and all her friends and relatives are there walking together to goodness-knows-where, like a serious entourage! haha.
i've always wanted to sleep before 1am but somehow tt desire doesn't materialize. somehow, some way, even when i've bathed and eaten and am free, i just end up doing something and dragging past 1am. so whether i'm off or not, i still slp late. and wake up early. haha. i'm lucky if i can get 7 hours a night! ok good night. i better go slp and brace myself for all that walking and sweeping and squeegy-ing again tmr.
