jamlliver's adventures 2

i had off today and me, shi min, sheila and xiao ling went to Williamsburg :)) we rented a car from Hertz - it's a chevrolet malibu and we requested for GPS. so xiao ling drove, and i was the co-driver (like co-pilot) cos basically i was helping her navigate with the GPS and watch out for cars, traffic lights and highway exit signs. damn cool, i couldn't believe we were actually driving ard in USA, and i wasn't confident of driving on the left or i would have driven since only the 2 of us had licenses :p 40+ miles to Williamsburg! so exciting right. but petrol here is expensive, 3+ per gallon, but then again it's by gallons so maybe it's cheaper than SG afterall. and the car was damn nice and new!!! speaking of gallons, i haven't finished my 1 gallon of milk which shd be expiring come 8 june. 1 gallon = 3. sth litres!

anyway we visited colonial williamsburg, which is the historical capital of virginia..all the colonial houses and stuff. will post pics when i'm free. had late lunch at Friendly's (cute name ;)) then we went to ripley's believe it or not museum and 4D theatre! was an eye-opener despite having to pay USD22 each (even with discount coupon). lunch was good cos there was FREE ICE CREAM before 5pm, and each of us had 2 cups before they finally refused to give us any more. haha. but it was delicious, esp the "forbidden chocolate", cos as usual choc rocks my socks =D

rushed thru the last part of the ripley museum cos we wanted to catch the 6pm 4D show to make it back to richmond before sundown, and it was a pity cos we couldn't really see the torture and punishment exhibits at the end. took too long at the first few exhibits, and i took like 375 pics -______- adding shi min's 326 pics and i couldn't even copy all of hers, cos my disk drive is full :(( shd have brought an external hard disk la. and i totally exhausted BOTH my camera batteries and BOTH memory cards today, also cos i didn't delete the earlier photos and 1 of the batt wasn't fully charged. the 4D theatre was fun, there were stupid effects like water spraying in our faces, gas and pressure effects ard to mimic rats and volcanos, and even some weird device in the seat back that prodded our backs. it was totally terrorising haha.

drove to kroger after getting back to richmond, and for once we cld buy groceries at ease and without having to lug everything back across a few blocks back to dorm :) and i didn't get enuf of ice cream so i bot a pint of B&J choc fudge brownie for 3.49, which i cldn't stuff in my freezer so i hope it doesn't go bad in the fridge compartment. and we met xiao ling's frens at kroger, so everyone squeezed in the chevy for a ride back. and she went over the kerb as she was doing a left turn cos it was so low she didn't see it -_________-

yippee today's a good day just that it was sweltering. heard that it reached 44 deg c today, and at colonial williamsburg a guide told us it was 99 farenheit (37.2 deg c) and tt it usually wasn't this hot at this time of the yr. my whole body and face were raining whenever we were out in the sun and i almost got sunburnt even in the car. never encountered such heat today. hope tmr won't be so bad cos i'll be working :( i bot new sunblock fr kroger too, this time spf70 hahaha. and i got tricked into buying florida's natural orange juice cos there was a price tag tt said 2.60 but it wasn't referring to it so i bot it and ended up paying 3.99 =( and i got new mosq/ insect bites on my arms and legs, freaking itchy and ugly! grrr. couldn't find insect repellent tho. and i figured it's corrosive so i shdn't use it.

i wanna go to Prime Outlets at Williamsburg! it's one of the top 10 factory outlets in the USA, very big with many brands but we had no time for it. had fun nevertheless, and am looking forward to my next off day. which is next sat. haix, meanwhile it's just work. i'm very tired, better go slp. piccies next time!
