I friggin don't wanna cough :(( If I fall sick again it'll probably be the n-th time since coming here. Sigh~~~Looks like I'm a sunny-humid-weather person :( But then again I fell sick during summer here too. It's like 3 years' worth of sickness that I managed to escape in NTU all crashing down on me for revenge here. Doesn't help when so many of my classmates are sick too. Boo.

Today during 推拿 clinicals I discovered I have 劳损 on my lower back and left shoulder. KNS. I need to hire a masseur for daily massages! And when it gets cold in the evening my ankle starts to act up. Now my neck and back are aching too. Double boo.

Such is a day in the life of a poor student who has no choice. Please don't let me get 学生肘 or any other funny shit. I'm already feeling too old. =(

Btw my new fave haunt is the medicine shop opposite the hospital. I think I can accumulate enough points to redeem anything I want, at the rate I buy TCM. Is that good or bad?

At this very point in time, I'd say I prefer summer to winter. Realized that daylight really matters alot to me. I used to think I was a night person - I felt more energetic at night and could always stay up till late, such that sleeping at 2-3am was the norm. Now with the sun rising after I wake up and the sun setting at 4+pm, my body clock is screwed. I was horrified when I was dozing off over my books at 9pm. 9 frigging pm! At home in SG that's the peak tv-time! Before I even bathe and get down to work! Here it turns dark so early I feel tired so much earlier too. I suppose that's what you call adaptation or 天人相应, if you know what I mean. But it's really depressing. Now I know how those londoners feel. Dark and dreary everywhere. I'd rather be somewhere sunny and lively! But then again when summer comes I'm not sure I'd rather the sweltering heat. We'll see what I have to say then. It's now slightly past 6 and it feels like 9. Crap. Enough of sub-zero temperatures too! I miss my slippers, shorts and tees :(( I'm sockified almost 24/7 here cos it's around 15-20deg in my room, with my electric heater on. Boo. This feels like lab. Ok my fingers are getting numb, shall go shove them under my butt.

1st Nov - 1st snow

It snowed today. My first snow encounter! And my first real snowball fight and snowman :)))))))) Super exciting. The feeling was indescribable. I was like a small kid opening my eyes to the world for the first time and grinning with fascination. When my mom poked me at 8+am to tell me it was snowing, I couldn't go back to sleep after that. I think I stared at it for half an hour through the windows before everyone else awoke. Haha. Everything you've seen in postcards and movies came to live. Seeing (and touching) is believing. Nothing beats the real experience! 1st November. A day to remember. For Beijing which doesn't snow much by record, this year's snow came early and heavy. I guess this signals that autumn has given way to winter. But the leaves haven't turned red yet!!!!! Most of them are still yellow or green. But it was like a winter wonderland, with all the leaves and boughs laden with white snow, the grass, roofs and cars covered inches deep, branches collapsing from the weight of the snow...at night I trudged through ankle-deep ice water (I thought it was just wet asphalt) and had water leaking into my boots -.- It was frigging cold, -3 deg with wind, and this is just the beginning. Welcome to the beijing!

I still can't believe it actually snowed. There's some truth in weather forecasts afterall ;)
