I'm such a major slacker, I've been slacking the entire week. I'm foretelling the rest of the week too. HAPPY CNY peeps! I'm not spending my last CNY here mugging! And I'm SO looking forward to buan lak on sat :))
Rec day hasn't officially started but soon! I'll make it happen haha.
Went for private consultation with lao shi today and she told me to go for a run to sweat it out, and that I've been taking too much cold stuff. Such a bad student I am, I immediately went for a nice dose of ice cream in the afternoon. Wahaha. Anyway I think my flu is quite mild, no cause for worry! I was convinced all those whom lao shi called to answer her questions in class today were all the smarty peeps. Until she called me. >< I hope that spells that I did relatively well for the test!
I'm so tempted to watch the newly-acquired shows, but then I'll be glued and there'll be no turning back. And i kopped alot of old-school songs today!! Brings back the memories of the pri/sec school days. Haha. But I must focus on fall out boy first!!
I left home earlier today, thinking there might be a post-cny mad rush for work and school, with accompanying accidents which would jam the whole way but it was so smooth and there were fewer cars than usual! I reached school 30mins before time -.- And the carpark was so empty -.- I bet many ppl ponned haha.

This might very well be the last CNY I'm spending here in Singapore. Not till 2 years later. Woosh.
My rock concert awaits! Woohoo! Burned a hole in my pocket though. Hope it'll be worth it :)
My fave niece is officially Desiree :))
Been so tired lately, I think I'm gonna fall sick. Sneezle weezle sniffle snuffle. But I still managed to 守岁 haha.
I like large slobbery dogs!

The second goal is to 生 more money to get out of Singapore, whether it's to micronesia or europe, to swim with jellyfish or sleep on long train journeys, to play with tigers or look at topless women, to visit romantic hotspots or spy on fellow hotel guests, to take random shots or pictures of the sights and scenes. Even if it's just nearby, it's the company that matters :))
The third goal is to keep myself sane amongst the daily stresses, by being insane with my friends. It doesn't matter whether I'm a meanie or I'm just pure evil, at least I can make people laugh. Haha. I know I suck at pool, and sometimes I'm just too blur for my own good, resulting in the world laughing at me again, but here's what I have to say : I may not be perfect, but I'll always be me. Take it or leave it, you're welcome to laugh at/with me, and when the world comes to an end at least we still have one another and we can laugh till we cry =D (or cry till we laugh).
The fourth goal is to clinch a rewarding FYP, one that I'm interested in and one that can see me through 3 months. And of course one with a nice mentor :)) I'd be happy if I could go to the zoo! Heh.
The fifth goal is to go to a rock concert. No more Jason Mraz, but there's still Fall Out Boy :))
The sixth goal is to learn to play the guitar. The perfect wedding would be one with a live band, and my husband doesn't necessarily have to be part of the band but he'd have to serenade me with a live solo :D Heh. I'd probably be touched to tears.
The seventh goal is to make the most out of what I have. To cherish what I have and to live life to the fullest. That about sums it all up. Not forgetting, always reflecting and striving to be a better person.
The eighth goal is to make my recreation days happen. Once a week at least!! A healthy lifestyle beckons! Sleep more, think less, laugh more, emo less, exercise more, eat erm to my heart's content.....
Not really new year resolutions, but random things I hope to accomplish, in no particular order or priority.
where i wanna be
Been really exercising! I'm feeling fitter, and for the first time, I have a tan for cny :) Actually not really a tan, just sun-kissed for the day. Which will probably fade soon haha.
I've been meeting the most unlikely people in the most random places, but it always brings a smile to my face, such unexpected yet pleasant surprises :)) I suspect that was Yin Hong playing bball for NUS on Thursday, then I saw Kelvin at taka last night, my junior at ECP today and finally Jelly at Eunos at 11.30pm tonight! haha. Long time no see.
I came across a really amusing phenomenon today. I was with Yiyu and Shaun, and we were happily cycling while the other 2 uncles were trailing kms behind in their skates...so basically it was just the 3 of us. And on our way back from the changi beach park PCN, we were blocked by this "couple" on a tandem bike, and what was really cool was that only the guy in front was cycling. The passenger, with long rebonded hair, was just sitting behind, playing a guitar and singing. Like how romantic is that? I was like, :))))) We were enjoying it so much, cos the live music was so good, we decided to slow down and just trail behind them, like their entourage. So after "Be with you", we cheered for them and the "girl" turned partially to smile at us. That's when we suspected both were guys. Initially I thought "she" was strumming to music played from a music player or handphone, but it turned out "she" was singing. But guys' song and guy's voice! Uh-oh. So after "La Bamba" (which reminded me of vjc), we finally had enough, overtook and had a good look at the "girl". HAHA. Both were guys!!! Interesting eh? The guy in front must have been quite strong and had very good balance to be able to cycle the both of them on a heavy tandem bike! Anyway I was happy to soak up the sun, wind, music and scenery. I MUST make it all the way to changi beach park and maybe to pasir ris park too if the PCN linked them all. Next time! Shall borrow a bike or rent for maybe 4 hours or the whole day ;) And pick up blading too!! Whee! I saw a few planes take off and land and the sights and sounds made me :)))) too. I thought of the last night cycling trip with the jays, where we cycled on the road alongside the changi runway (as there was no PCN then) and we felt like we owned the whole road, and we were at the top of the world :)
ECP is fast becoming my fave haunt =) It's no wonder the place was littered with campers today and it's always flooded with foreigners and locals alike. Everyone wants a nice little break away from the concrete jungle and traffic lights on a weekend.
I've been really happy since Thursday night. It's been a long time, and I'm starting to see the light :) Despite the holiday mood, one must not forget to mug! Haha.
"People observe the colours of a day only at its beginnings and ends, but to me it's quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colours. Waxy yellows, cold-spat blues, murky darkness..." - The Book Thief (Markus Zusak)

So Fly~ Fly Away
So walk Away

Anyway I think I need to hit myself if I take anymore afternoon naps in future. I'm such an avid time-waster, I'm lagging behind my books in what's supposed to be a slack semester. Plus I'm not stuck onto any online shows or novels now, so I can't see what's holding me back. Sleeping is my hobby but napping = not being able to wake up. To the point that my phone's alarm even gave up on me, it stopped ringing after I snoozed it continuously for around an hour!
Wednesdays are supposed to be running days, but as you can see, I've been so lazy I haven't started on the routine. And I won't be starting next week either, cos that will be the eve of THE TEST. Ok maybe the week after next. CNY? Whoever goes running on CNY when they should be binging on new yr goodies?! Oh wells. Think less, mug more. I hope my health will look up.

Angels
And this song has been ringing in my head.
I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're grey and old
'cos I've been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
Now I can identify with all the emo songs, and smile knowingly as I listen to them.
1 midnight spent browsing the yearbooks of the old, and the next midnight was a rendezvous with the newly renovated DHS campus. My alma mater. It's been 5 years, and it's been such a long time since I last visited. So much has changed, and I realise how much we've grown. Quiet and serene on a cool Saturday night, with the echoes of children talking, shouting and laughing all just a memory of the day but reminiscent in our minds. The corridors, the stairs, the classrooms, the field, the basketball courts, the monkey bars, the canteen, the many nights spent camping in school...all the memories. Of where we spent the majority of our adolescent years, growing, learning.
And I'm thankful for friends whom I can laugh with, cry with, laugh till I cry with, and cry till I laugh with. The future will be a bright one :)
On a sidenote, I've survived 1 wk without my favourite belt. I miss it, and I want to wear it, and I know I'd just have to get used to life without it if I never got it back, but right now, I want it back. There's a time for everything, and time will heal all wounds. I like talking in riddles, just like Tom Riddle. haha. For goodness sake, it's just a belt. I'm not losing my mind, nor am I hinting at anything, I just want my belt back soon. LOL. And I will haunt her for it.
She is strong, and she will be strong.

empty
I was late, but the lecture hadn't started cos the AV system wasn't working, so after wasting 30 minutes, it was a mass exodus from LT2A to CR1 in SBS. I was dragging my sleepy self to lecture when I was startled by a guy behind me who asked me where LT19A was. -.- I wonder why people like asking me for directions. I look so old meh?!
After lecture, I still had no appetite so I went with JJ to OAS to settle the review of results thingy. Long queue! Never imagined there'd be so many people clinging on to false hope haha. I'm one of them btw. I went to enquire about whether my payment got through.
Then was 2 hours of TCM, with the new teacher who looked young and savvy (and scary, cos she looks like the call-name and no-hint type). Boring, and I almost fell asleep. Finally it was lunch and I was disappointed to find that laksa had run out and it was only 1.30pm -.- Next time I shall have to grab the first bowl during 10.30am break!
Another 2 hours of TCM after lunch. I fell asleep haha. Like twice. Actually I can't rmb whether the first time I fell asleep was before lunch or after. I just rmb I was trying to listen with my eyes closed, like wat JJ always does, but soon I was nodding away, waking occasionally to find laoshi still talking about the same thing and finding graffiti on my notes.
And so the first day of school officially ended.
I think I shall have to force myself to sleep by 11pm from now on, so that I don't doze off in class. I really need 10 hours :( But I have early lessons, so shall have to make do with 8. 6 hours of TCM tmr!!! Grrrr. Can't wait for the textbooks to arrive, cos it's gonna be chiong-time! Haha. Last sem, cannot afford to play-play anymore.

WWF: The Great Escape
The following has been ripped off Adelyne's blog, cos I'm a lazy shit and I think she did a pretty good job :)
Adelyne said:
I'm back from the land of "Truly Asia"! The best 5 days anyone could ever have! Not that we did the most fantastic things (we only went to Cameron Highlands and KL), cuz it's the company that really made the difference :D Honestly, whenever we're together, we could be doing the most boring thing on earth, and still be entertained. The past 5 days will surely keep me motivated and afloat for the rest of the semester, through whatever shit I might be going through.
1. Each of us had a role during the trip. Simin was the 队长/Programmes Head/Slave Driver, Jamie was the Welfare Head, Pei was the 2nd Welfare Head/Food IC, Nina was Navigator/Miscellaneous, and I was the 副队长/Logistics/Sai Kang Warrior/Slave.
2. Long bus rides. I think we spent like 21 hours in buses. Firstly, we had to take a 11-hour coach ride to Cameron Highlands on Fri night. Walao, the coach had to drop off some other passengers at Genting Highlands first. So we climbed up the mountain on the bus with the rest of them, before realizing we were going up the wrong highlands. Then near the top of Genting, we switched to a van which brought us down Genting, and brought us up Cameron. So basically, we climbed 2 mountains in one night. Nice. It was also 5 hours from Cameron to KL on the third day, and another 5 hours from KL to Singapore on the last day. Plus I was mostly sitting at the back, so I absorbed most of the impact from the bumps on the roads ahha. So basically I was bouncing up and down on my seat, and getting a bruise from bumping my head against the headrest repeatedly. Oh well, at least the bus(es) didn't break down.
3. Going up Cameron is a nightmare. The place is just a long, winding maze of ascending roads. So it's like this endless rollercoaster of twists and turns. The roads are kinda narrow at some parts too, so you really need skill to navigate them. And sometimes, when cars meet along a narrow turn, it turns into a "who can fit the most cars into the tightest space" thing which can be quite scary. I bet if I were the one driving, we would've have gone off the mountain at the first turn haha. So yeah, I really respect the drivers there.
4. Cameron Highlands is all about strawberries, oranges, honey and tea. We joined this countryside tour conducted by our hotel where we went to farms and a tea plantation. It was quite boring, though the view was really great and the air was fresh and clean. I think we didn't really enjoy it also cuz we were quite seh from the bus ride the night before, so we KO-ed whenever we were in the van.
5. KL isn't really as cheap as it's made out to be. The malls are just bigger versions of those in Singapore, and the brands there are about the same price. So it made shopping pretty pointless haha. We watched a movie the first day we were there though, cuz tickets are cheaper :D 'Australia' (the movie) was quite good. Cheesy, but entertaining and quite touching haha. And I realize we have this habit of talking during movies and laughing at the most inappropriate times. Someone could be dying on screen and we will still be able to find something funny in that. This was probably why the man sitting next to Pei changed his seat before the movie even started haha. We must have terrified him.
6. Being in KL really makes you appreciate the public transport system we have in Singapore. We had to change train systems (and lines), so we had to buy tickets everytime we had to go onto another line, instead of just buying a full-day pass. But ok la, at least there was public transport.
7. I've never eaten so much in just a few days. Like seriously. I think my stomach expanded to twice its normal size after this trip hahah. The first night at Cameron, we went to eat steamboat, where they had free refills of vegetables. And we asked for like 3 refills, and an additional refill of beehoon. So our soup was basically swimming with vegetables and beehoon. In fact, the soup actually turned green haha. And I didn't know beehoon expanded in soup, cuz suddenly we had lots and lots to eat. Plus we refilled our soup like I think about 10 times? It's a surprise we didn't scare the waitresses ('Wah 5 个小妹可以吃这样多!!'). We ate so much we could barely walk, and I looked like I had a pregnant belly hoho. Ya and after that, we went for dessert, and later that night, we ate the strawberries and oranges (that I horribly mutilated while peeling) that we had bought. Shiok.
This was basically the pattern throughout the trip haha. Eat a big meal, then go for more. Otherwise known as 去到哪里, 吃到哪里 muahah.
8. This trip was also the first time where I actually went on a Viking ship ride. We were at Sunway Lagoon and I didn't know what possessed me to agree to go on it (I think it was peer pressure). I used to be really terrified of them cuz they look puke-inducing. After the ride, I think I became more terrified hahah. Just thinking about the ride gives me the chills. The thing goes 360 degrees man! And not only that, it HANGS in mid-air for a few seconds!! I think I saw my life flash pass my eyes when I was hanging horizontally to the ground, with my fate depending entirely on the harnesses holding me to my seat. And of course I was screaming my lungs out ("FreakfreakfreakfreakFREEEEEEAKKKKK!!!"). Beside me, Pei was going, "Freak!! This was worse than I thought!!", while Jamie was laughing and having a great time. Hail the queen of rollercoasters. She laughs in the face of danger.
9. Sunway Lagoon wasn't as entertaining as the advertisements make it out to be. We bought the pass for the Water Park (which we didn't manage to go to), the Adventure Park (where all the rollercoasters are), and the Scream Park (which was a complete waste of 20 minutes of my life). We tried almost all the rides though, which were quite fun, the most exciting moment being the one where Pei fell off her seat at the relatively mild "Grand Canyon River Rapids" (it's just a round boat going down a 'river') hahaha. I think the Scream Park was supposed to be scary, cuz it's like this haunted house thing, but we failed to be scared. Mostly cuz the ghosts were lame (they blew air at us, and we could see them before they came at us), and cuz us being us, we mostly laughed at them (especially Jamie).
10. I was 'raped' by my friends. Or rather, they taupok-ed me. Omg I had like 3 girls piled on top of me, while the other one was happily taking pictures. FUN. But the next day we taupok-ed our 队长 haha. It was crazy, and I shall be traumatised forever. But I still love them :DRound 1 - at first there were 2..
...then the pile became 3. I think I was starting to have trouble breathing haha.
Round 2 - at least I looked happy hahah
Round 3 - Simin's turn. You can't really see her though hahaha.
Thanks Adelyne aka Logistics Head! Your job doesn't end with the trip! And I think I've given you enough credit to justify using your entry hahahaha :p
More of my own points to add!
Our trip included
- shifting and re-tuning the TV at midnight. Mtvs, cards, laughter and taupoking.
- wanting to go for 甜蜜蜜 ktv in our hotel but getting put off by the uncle who was too willing to usher us in and the weird uncles and aunties singing ancient chinese songs hahaha.
- spying on our neighbours in the hotel.
- nina vomiting into the bread and flooding the toilets.
- pei socialising with the germans, fulfilling the role of Singaporean ambassador.
- having hearty breakfasts in the hotel :D (at least for me)
- conquering Tomahawk and the 360 deg pirate ship (again ><) and the massive rope bridge across Sunway Lagoon.
- cheap cakes at Secret Recipe.
- rushing for food.
- braving the rain to look for Bintang walk, only to walk up and down and be disappointed.
- impersonations of King George and Nullah from the movie "Australia".
- seeing Starbucks everywhere we went. (as many as 3 outlets within a single mall!)
- getting amused by Cicak man. It's the season where movies with "man" in the title are in. And "Cicak Man" is Malaysia's answer to this recent bigscreen craze, after the likes of "Ip Man" and "Yes Man".
- Nina's classic quote "You want you can buy but we're not going to share with you." (It was said very suddenly and matter-of-factly, we were all very amused)
- Simin as the mi fen queen, helping us clear the most part of the mi fen we ordered during steamboat.
- Pei falling off her seat and crushing my hand in the round bumboat during "Grand Canyon River Rapids", even BEFORE the ride started. The result of too much animation ;)
- Ade as the perpetually-hungry pig. Babi-girl, we call her =)
- Nina later took on the role of "Cicak Man"(lizard man) when we concluded she has sticky pads instead of fingers, as she always has problems clearing customs due to her non-existent fingerprints which can't be read. All 10 of them.
- the massive jam up and down the narrow, winding roads of the BOH tea plantation which involved packing the maximum no. of vehicles (tour buses, vans and cars) into every nook and crevice without anyone falling off the hill, so that opposing traffic could progress 10 inches. It involved very experienced drivers who came down to direct traffic, and the folding of side mirrors to avoid them being shaved off by the vehicle parallel to the said vehicle on the same road. Not to forget lots of sweaty palms, stressed drivers, heads poking out of wound-down windows to check for at least 2mm of clearance before passing through, and lots of video-ing/ photo-taking by amused passengers.
- bouncing around in the backseat of vans and buses which almost broke my neck and squeezing in taxis till my toes went numb.
- running for the TANDAS at every stop. hahaa we all have bladder problems.
All in all, FANTASTIC. Till next time, my dears! ;D

2009
Today was pretty screwed up, gloomy and dull, emo-ing around at home, organising itunes again, and the car dying on me just when I needed it. I was so irritated that everything always has to go wrong at the same time. But the day was saved by a good friend, a choco mcflurry, new music, a big friendly dog, long walks, a long-lost perdan and friends to laugh with and laugh at. Not to mention food. And the stupid marina bay countdown which was simply hilarious and lame, I wonder why people are willing to be cheated year after year. Anyway, the 3 surviving warriors counted down together, with self-made paper confetti to usher in the new year :) It's gonna be a better year, in one way or the other.
I just wanna thank my friends, who are so dear to me, whose shoulders I can always lie on without fear of being mistaken for the wrong type of business or without being shaken off, who I can always laugh at, who always laugh at me and hit me for being mean, for letting me sit on them and taupok them, for going crazy together with silly songs, metaphors, inside jokes, impersonations and camera poses, for acting retarded, for walking with me, and for the comfort, hope and encouragement they give. You guys know who you are =)
Here's to a better year ahead, of hopes and aspirations. It's the first 2 hours and 18 minutes of 2009.
