"书到用时方恨少,食到胃里方恨小。"
Literally translated, when you need to use your books, they seem too insufficient and when you get to eat food, your stomach seems too small.
Knowledge is infinite but our stomachs are finite. (Despite being able to stretch to different extents haha)
There can be different meanings, shallow and deep, depending on how you interpret these quotes, and that is one of the wonders of the chinese language :)
Ya, I'm getting cheena-fied, cos I like chinese quotes and I write my bullet numbering in chinese on my notes (HAHA) but seriously who kiares? At least I feel that I'm becoming more cultured. (And I always wanted to pick up chinese calligraphy heh) Which is why I always marvel at 老师's 行书 when he writes on the board, and I always admire people with nice handwriting, although it makes mine pale in comparison. It's a matter of appreciation for the finer arts and the chinese culture, in a world that is advancing towards globalization and western domination/influence. (or is it?)
After what mamee said, it suddenly dawned on me that I'm addicted to caffeine. Yes, yours truly is officially a coffee and tea junkie. As long as it doesn't make me tremble, I don't think I'd break the habit anytime soon. Uh-oh.
Am getting stressed. Exactly 1 month date-wise from yesterday, would have been the day of my last paper. Oh gosh. There's no better way to describe this than "time flies". Or maybe it zooms. Seems like light years to me! It's supposed to be a slack sem, but seriously I still can't figure out where all my time went. Viro, patho and TCM seems like 5 modules to me, all of a sudden. Haha. I better buck up. Soon.
I'm hungry, tired and I've got loads of studying to do. Please hang on. When the week is over, the test will be here. And then the exams will be round the corner. Haha, I just have to remind you guys ;)
And I'm convinced that stars over at my side of the world are brighter and clearer :) I'll miss the skies here, unless those in china can beat them skies down. But what if the whole city is shrouded in dust and pollution? Don't wanna think about it.
