Went back to lab today.

Boss: How many people are there in Beijing?
Me: Er, more than Singapore. I don't know.
Boss: You mean you don't ask? These kinda things are interesting, you should know them.
Me: Why?
Boss: I donno. Haha. How many people do you think there are in Singapore?
Me: Er, more than 4 million? 4.5 million? *Jo agrees*
Boss: Aha. You guys are outdated. There's more than 5 million, and the population's going to reach 8 million soon, but not more than 10 million. That's the limit.
Us: It's going to be so crowded.
Boss: They're going to build everything underground..HDBs 10 storeys down, motorways...
Us: Ok......

Then Boss decided he's done crapping with us and says he's really busy today. Big hint to get out of his office.

When we were hanging around the ancillary office talking to Ja, suddenly this FYP student approaches us and says in PRC-accent: "Are you looking for somebody?" Jo, Janet and I were stunned.

"Er, no?" (Can't she see we were talking to Ja, the second most senior in the lab after Boss?)
She walked away, then suddenly turned back and said: "Oh I know! You're Jamie right?"
Me: *stunned* (It freaks me out when people I don't know know me) Er how come you know my name and I don't know you?
She: Oh i realized you're the one in the picture! *pointing to our postcard pinned up on the wall*
Me: -.-

I think she didn't recognize Jo cos she dyed her hair. Lol. Anyway after that I realized she's following my mentor now, so she'd better do a good job, given the 10 or so new equipment which basically makes life a breeze. Haha. And she better not waste my protein.


Anyway SBS day was freaking boring. As usual. As Janet says, SBS = si bei sian. How true!
