It feels weird being able to blog without having to log onto VPN or some other proxy. This is the first time I turn on my comp after coming back. It's been a week, and somehow the internet repels me, although it's a freer world here. Withdrawal symptoms maybe.
Finished 3 books in the last 3 days. Feels like an avid reader all over again, like in my kindergarten days. I somehow find more joy in reading than in gluing my eyes to the tv screen or computer screen, not that there's anything interesting anyway. It's so boring back here, if I don't lose myself in the world of words I'd just melt away and shrivel up. Maybe I'm just making up for lost contact with English words. But the newspapers are boring too. Then again, there can't be anything groundbreaking every single day. Groundbreaking would then turn mundane too.
Anybody have "Lord of the Flies"?
Nothing much has changed. It's still hot and humid and full of traffic. Singapore is still as small as ever - 1 minute you're flying over the Padang and the next you're at Changi. Ridiculous.
I can't wait for my Irish Cream coffee when I get back to Beijing. It's always on the back of my mind. Lol.
