.:never gone:.: ice cream by the pint

Americans i talk to always ask me whether i like USA or wherever i come from. i always answer the latter and say it's the food. today i was talking to a black, Justin, who's 22 this yr, and it's rare to find a local older than me so it was refreshing. he asked whether it's the values/morals, and i said yeah, sort of too. it's kind of true. sad to say i don't like the A-cans. half of them don't even like their own kind and always complain about their own kind so that says alot right? we talked about cars, education, family, jobs...and it made me feel better from a tired and sian day. I learnt that a typical car here costs 13000 to 40000 USD, and at 40000 u can alr get a sports car. damnit. no wonder cars are such a common commodity here. esp chryslers(made in USA), fords, chevys, convertibles, audi TTs, mustangs and all sorts of chio sports cars. btw papat i saw Saab 93 and your golf GTI! (and i saw the GTI when i was driving and i tot of u :D)

and i think there's some problem with my heart, for awhile my heart was pounding fast into overdrive. i could feel it pounding so heart, when i propped my head with my hands i tot my hands were shaking. or maybe my whole body was shaking. and my pulse was racing. serious. maybe it's protein overdose, fatigue or 气虚 plus the heat. i really hope it's not my heart. maybe it's my liver. oh wells. really felt sick and tired. and taking deep breaths and drinking water didn't help. so what did i do? i rotated shifts as usual, went into my (air-conditioned,luckily) restroom, shut myself in a cubicle and rested for 15 mins. i almost dozed off. but i felt better after tt, and continued cleaning my restroom.

Today my impression of Duane totally changed. yes he's a supervisor, but he's only 19. and although he tells us off for slacking, he's a total slacker himself. who claims to use his brains but action proves he doesn't have much of them. i was watching them behave like a bunch of kids behind shockwave restroom. the whole bunch of guys, both white and black, were throwing stones and gravel around. at makeshift targets, at each other, or just randomly. total madness. i was just standing in 1 corner quietly observing all of them for the whole day. was sent home at 6pm cos there were too many ppl (for once) and cos we wanted to leave early, at 8pm (for our ecology dinner,c below), we were more likely to be sent home when there was a need. or rather no need for us. so Tang Di and I walked ard the park, visiting souvenir shops and getting free food. which brings me to why i'm in a good mood :)

It's good to know more ppl, esp internationals in the food service. I got to know quite a few ppl just during my sweeping of the waterpark and it's toilets, and it's not the first time i was offered food but it's the first time i successfully got free food :D anyway i had a soft serve ice cream and a funnel cake with icing and strawberry toppings for lunch (for free, thanks to christine@Beach Bites) then after i was sent off work at 6 i went back with Tang Di and got him and myself another soft serve. Then we walked ard and tried getting food from Andre and Jukebox Diner but the supervisors were ard so we gave up, and i had the urge to check out the smoked turkey leg at Country Kitchen and guess what? the cashiers and frontline staff were my neighbours in hall. they're PRCs, and i've spoken to them b4, and their supervisor wasn't in sight so they managed to sneak me a turkey leg from the kitchen and i share it with Tang Di hahahaha! so gleeful, sitting around the carousel with delicious food worth 5.99 b4 tax. btw the funnel cake thingy with ice cream was worth 8+ bucks. haha. apparently it's unique to KD. it's the first time i felt like a guest in KD.

so we caught the 8.30pm bus and made it in time for yet another ice cream. ok the point is we wanted to have a farewell dinner for Danni, which is my fellow ecology international employee, and the only other girl out of the 5 of us. she's leaving on 10 july :( hope to c her in school tho! yup and on normal days when we close, we'll reach dorms at 11+pm, and all restaurants will be closed. so we had to leave early and got back at 9+ and made the last 10 minutes before Cold Stone Creamery closed, cos their Tuesday special is 1 for 1 kids size ice cream for $2.20. yummy! this time i had dark choc, cake batter choc and cheesecake flavoured ice cream mixed with oreo cookies. ;) i just love ice cream. Tang Di told Danni my chin has become rounder -_______- but i don't feel tt i put on weight leh. Then we went for chinese food@Good Taste. was pretty full by then, cos of the ice creams and turkey haha. so i ate less than my usual capacity :p i'll miss Danni! our ecology team won't be complete anymore when she leaves and i'll be the only girl left. again. sian. i like complaining and gossiping abt the other eco locals with her :)

i outdid myself again. broke my personal ice cream record. ok maybe there wasn't ever a record in the first place. but i had 4 ice creams in the last 24 hours. that's freaking mad, doncha think? i think my tummy's turning icy and fat. yucks. ok my first was last night, or rather this morning, at 2+am. i had half a tub of B&J choc fudge, cos i didn't wanna stuff it back into my cui fridge which keeps making my stuff melt then refreezes it. it totally lowers the quality of my ice cream. (btw i bot another tub of B&J, same flavour, from Kroger the day b4, cos it was only USD2.50. siao right? cannot don't buy! but it melted by the time i came back and i had to stuff it in my friend's fridge cos my freezer's tiny and frost is forming ard it, making the space damn small >< my second and third ice creams were the soft serves from Beach Bites in the waterpark and the fourth was the cold stone one which is within walking distance from dorm. hahaha. yippee such stuff make me happy whee! :D

it was the second good decision of the week to leave early today cos i was tired (slept at 3 - went downstairs for internet then had to hang my clothes to dry and was busy eating up my B&Js as i was hungry) and i had 心悸. almost cldnt wake up in the morning, took an immense effort not to keep snoozing or turn off my alarm. i keep promising myself that i will slp early, which means before 2am but seems like that is not possible again. even with no internet connection i end up looking at photos and listening to music or talking to ppl, and now that my connection is back i end up blogging. lol. and the bus schedule has changed such that i have to wake up earlier. Altho my shift's at 11am i have to catch the 9.15am bus cos the next will be too late, and tt means i'll have to wake at 8.15am (and snooze till 8.30am like today haha).

It's interesting how Chino describes the eco ppl. (btw he's the half-korean bad ass who has all the vices, told u guys abt him b4) A few week ago he said "You guys look like a f***ing bunch of bananas." Today he said "You guys look like bumblebees!" lol. pretty apt, i admit, cos when we all stand together in a cluster in our yellow shirts and black belts, we really do look like bananas or bees. pretty funny really. no kodak moment tho :p
