lil sis

As she clung to my big cold hand with her small warm hand, I felt warm inside despite the cold wind blowing against me.

I was so worried she'd burst into tears when she saw me leave.

The innocence of a child who'd climb into your embrace and shower you with kisses, stare into your face with idolization and drag her heels while sending you off and say that she wished you'd never leave, would both tug at your heartstrings and leave you appalled, with the lingering of a really sweet memory. Of a child you'd only known for a few hours.

The first midautumn fest spent abroad, the first time I've eaten so much mooncakes, the first outing on my own in China, the first time so many people called me by my chinese name...

...a rather special midautumn.
